Why we exist

Three specifications separate a cork coaster that lasts years from one that dies in a season, and none appears on a marketplace listing.

**Solid, or a sticker.** Veneer-on-board coasters peel at the rim and swell at the first wet glass, because most of the coaster is not cork. Ours are solid pressed cork through the full thickness — one material, nothing to peel, nothing to swell. The edge tells the truth: layers mean a sticker.

**The grain grade.** Pressed cork is granules, and granule size is destiny: fine grain holds a crisp engraving and a clean rim for years; coarse agglomerate blurs marks and crumbs at the edge in weeks. Ours is stated.

**The right mark for the material.** Engraving toasts a permanent mark into the cork itself; full-colour print is proofed on cork tone, sealed on service faces, honest about whites. Both live on the quote, chosen for your artwork rather than defaulted.

What we actually make

Engraved logo coasters on fine-grain solid cork. Full-colour printed coasters proofed on cork tone. Wedding and event sets with names, dates and honest deadlines. Service-grade venue coasters with sealed, wipeable faces. Gift sets of four or six in solid-cork holders, boxed to hand over. And trade programmes where artwork, grain, thickness and packing live on file and a reorder is a case count in an email.

Every quote states the grain grade, the thickness, the mark method and the seal spec.

What we do not make

Absorbent stone coasters — a genuinely different product with its own specialist. Disposable pulpboard drink mats — the throwaway bar mat is its own trade with its own printers and its own economics. Leather, marble and acrylic coasters — other materials, other makers.

And we will not build you a veneer-on-board coaster to hit a price point, however nicely the price point asks. A coaster that swells is not cheaper; it is just paid for twice.

The tests you can run yourself

Look at the edge of any cork coaster. One uniform material through the thickness: solid. Visible layers, like a biscuit: a sticker on a board.

Check the rim of a coaster a few months old. Clean line: fine grain. Ragged and shedding crumbs: coarse agglomerate, and the engraving will be blurring too.

Pick up a swollen café coaster and flex it. That stiffness-gone-soft is fibreboard that met a wet glass. Solid cork cannot do that, because there is no board in it.

How we price

No dollar figures on this site. Price moves with size, thickness, grain, mark method and quantity — and the two things that matter most, solid construction and fine grain, are the standard here rather than upsells, because without them the product is not worth your name. Send the details and a real quote comes back the same day, with a lowest-price guarantee if you are already holding a cheaper one. Ask that supplier what is under their veneer.

On cork itself

Cork is the bark of the cork oak, stripped by hand every several years while the tree lives on and grows more — the same trees are harvested for decades, and the oak forests survive precisely because the bark is worth more standing than felled. Our pressed cork comes from that bark and from the offcuts of the wine-stopper industry.

That structure — millions of sealed air cells — is also the engineering: the grip, the heat insulation, the way a damp coaster breathes itself dry instead of souring. The sustainability story and the performance story are the same story, which is rare and worth saying plainly.
